Three soccer matches against international opponents are in store for Baylor alum Julie Doyle, who recently joined the U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Soccer Team.

Between now and Sept. 2, the team will face Norway, England and Sweden at Loughborough University in England. It marks Doyle’s second time on the U.S. U-23 team (the first being as a junior at Baylor).

As a Baylor Bear (where she was known as Julie James), Doyle earned a string of accolades as a midfielder: becoming a United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team member and Scholar All-America First Team member, as well as earning a semifinalist spot for the MAC Hermann Trophy.

According to a Baylor press release, “she left the program as the all-time leader in career minute[s] and finished among the program’s Top 10 career goal and point scorer[s].” Her 2018 season superlatives include 7 shots, 4 shots on goal, 2 goals, 1 assist and a game high of 104 minutes of play against Iowa State.
