Entering his junior year at Texas State University in San Marcos, running back Jaylin Nelson looks to tote the ball more for the Bobcats.

The 5-foot-8-inch, 200-pound Duncanville High product has a two-year career line of 121 yards on 31 carries. Once a two-star quarterback in North Texas, Nelson completed his lone pass attempt for a 69-yard touchdown against New Mexico State his freshman year.

It was also in his first year in San Marcos that he had his best game in the maroon and gold, a season-best 52 yards on six carries at Coastal Carolina.

Nelson did not play in the season-opening 41-7 loss to Texas A&M as the Bobcats managed only eight net rushing yards against the Aggies.

Texas State next plays Wyoming.
