Legislation considered in a Texas House Committee would allow any illegal alien crossing the Texas-Mexico border who receives a “pending” status from the federal government to immediately receive a Texas Driver’s License.
State Sen. Charles Perry bucked his GOP colleagues by voting against legislation to prevent hostile countries and their citizens from buying up land in Texas.
“Several priority bills remain stuck in committee, several without so much as a hearing,” said Chris Russo.
The Texas House has only passed one piece of GOP priority legislation.
Kinney County has been inundated with smuggling activity due to its location between two legal ports of entry.
“Texas cannot afford to allow activists to hijack and deplete funding for its elite higher education programs,” said Chase Martin.
“It really looks like we will get over the finish line this session,” said GOP Legislative Priorities Chair Jill Glover.
A Border Security Committee in the Texas Senate considers efforts to double down on building the wall on the southern border.
“Texas must do all it can to protect itself from bad actors,” said State Rep. Jacey Jetton.
