Results from the Republican primary show several races are headed to the runoff election in May.
As of publication, here is a list of races headed to a runoff:
House District 1 – Incumbent Gary VanDeaver of New Boston will face challenger Chris Spencer
House District 12 – Trey Wharton and Ben Bius for the open seat
House District 21 – Incumbent Dade Phelan of Beaumont will face challenger David Covey
House District 29 – Jeffrey Barry and Alex Kamkar for the open seat
House District 30 – Jeff Bauknight and AJ Louderback for the open seat
House District 33 – Incumbent Justin Holland of Heath will face challenger Katrina Pierson
House District 44 – Incumbent John Kuempel of Seguin will face challenger Alan Schoolcraft
House District 58 – Incumbent DeWayne Burns of Cleburne will face challenger Helen Kerwin
House District 61 – Incumbent Frederick Frazier of McKinney will face challenger Keresa Richardson
House District 64 – Incumbent Lynn Stucky of Sanger will face challenger Andy Hopper
House District 91 – Incumbent Stephanie Klick of Fort Worth will face challenger David Lowe
These races will be heating up in the coming weeks as incumbents attempt to hold onto their seats.
The runoff election is scheduled for May 28.
