The National Republican Congressional Committee has added Texas congressional candidate Carlos De La Cruz to its 2026 MAGA Majority program, a national initiative designed to support Republican candidates in key House races.
De La Cruz is running in Texas’ newly redrawn 35th Congressional District, where he will face Democrat Johnny Garcia in the November General Election.
Republicans have identified the district as one of their top pickup opportunities in Texas, following redistricting last year.
“Carlos De La Cruz is the battle-tested fighter Texans deserve in Congress: a proud Air Force veteran, small businessman, husband, and a father who has spent his life taking on America’s enemies from Iraq and Afghanistan to the cartels at our southern border,” said NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez.
Martinez added that De La Cruz will bring “San Antonio values, backbone, and America First grit to Congress.”
According to the NRCC, the MAGA Majority program provides selected candidates with early support, strategic resources, and increased national visibility as Republicans seek to expand their House majority.
The program replaces the NRCC’s longtime Young Guns program.
De La Cruz is one of three Texans included in the inaugural MAGA Majority class, alongside Tano Tijerina in the 28th Congressional District and Eric Flores in the 34th District.
