A new report from the offices of U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) reveal how Pentagon leaders are pushing woke ideologies, such as critical race theory and gender theory, within the military.
Under the Biden administration, Bishop Garrison was appointed senior advisor to the secretary of defense for Diversity and Inclusion. Under the title, Garrison leads the Biden administration’s Countering Extremist Activity Working Group. He is also a supporter of the 1619 Project and has stated that systemic racism is one of the greatest threats to America’s national security.
Also under the Biden administration, the Department of Defense Education Agency (DODEA) appointed Kelisa Wing as its chief of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity. Wing has a history of spouting anti-white tweets.
As Fox News documented, Wing tweeted a derogatory remark in 2020, saying: “[T]his lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS… [W]e are not the majority, we don’t have power.”
The Biden administration has also been indoctrinating a new generation of military leadership through the U.S. service academies.
In the report, Rubio and Roy outline an instance where an admiral insisted that midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy read “How to Be an Antiracist,” a book that teaches that capitalism is racist and that people are inherently oppressed or privileged based on the color of their skin.
Additionally, the Department of Defense currently allows for members to cosmetically “transition” from their biological sex to the opposite sex while on active duty. Services are also requiring their members to receive training on how to use pronouns properly and when to recommend that their subordinates consider gender reassignment surgery.
In a press release, Roy says the Pentagon is using taxpayer dollars to promote anti-American ideology within the military.
The Department of Defense’s priority should be training the men and women of our Armed Forces to be a united, lethal, and battle-ready force primed to defend the United States and her interests at a moment’s notice. Instead, Biden’s woke Pentagon is using taxpayer dollars to promote blatant anti-American ideology. It has to stop. We need to end this politicization of our military and keep our Armed Forces focused on defending our national security.
Rubio and Roy announced they will push for the Restoring Military Focus Act to become law. The legislation, first introduced by Roy in 2021, would eliminate the military’s chief diversity officer, who is responsible for implementing these woke initiatives.
