Texans finally achieved a House of Representatives floor vote on campus carry Saturday and it passed! You can see Rep. Allen Fletcher’s HB 972 and amendments here.

Now to trouble in the state senate; Senator Whitmire (D-Houston), a past strong supporter of campus carry, announced that he will not let campus carry have a vote in his committee this session (https://tinyurl.com/bvkpk7d) so he’s all but killed the bill in the Senate.

My friends it’s time for us to act. Campus carry has passed through the Senate in previous sessions only for it to die in the House with no vote. Now that we’ve finally achieved a successful House vote, it would be ridiculous for us not to step-up with all our energy and push Senators to get campus carry passed.

This week we need you to call and email offices of Texas state senators and tell them you expect them to get campus carry passed on the Senate floor.

Call and email local and Austin offices starting with your senator then move on to others. Each senator has direct phone numbers and email message forms at their websites which you can find here:

https://www.senate.state.tx.us/75r/Senate/Members.htm.  If you want to call now without looking up other numbers call the Capitol Switchboard at 512-463-4630 and ask for your senator.

Tell them you want, you expect, a Senate floor vote on campus carry.

If you can find the time contact all 31 senators making sure you call your senator and your neighboring senators first.

We need thousands of calls placed this week to district and Capitol offices.
