Ahead of the next school year, the board of directors for the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts decided to keep the girls choir to biological girls and the boys choir to biological boys.

Following a vote of 4-2, FWAFA will now require proof of biological sex, as marked on birth certificates, when students join the choirs.

Fort Worth activist Carlos Turcios declared this a “major win for parents,” adding that the “artificially created transgender ideology has no place in our schools!”

FWAFA is home to the world-class Texas Boys Choir as well as its sister choir, the Singing Girls of Texas.

Recently, Turcios told Texas Scorecard that there has been a push to include girls in the Texas Boys Choir.

“Many conservative parents and activists showed up to support the board on having birth certificates as a requirement for joining either the boys choir or girls choir,” Turcious explained. “I and many others spoke against this push to make the boys choir gender inclusive.”

According to Turcios, “The Child Grooming Crowd used the suicide argument to try and shame anyone that was against their worldview.”

“Basic biology won yesterday,” said Turcios. “And we will never allow the artificially created community to dictate what biology is.”
