A band teacher who resigned from Lampasas Independent School District in January has been officially accused of sexual misconduct with a female student.
Jeremy Lyndell Flint, 35, a former band director at Lampasas Middle School, was arrested Thursday and charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.
He was allowed to resign in January after parents reported allegations that their daughter was involved in a sexual relationship with Flint, according to a statement from the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office.
Flint taught in Lampasas ISD for eight years.
His wife, Chloe Flint, was an assistant band director at Lampasas High School.
A 2022 profile of the “married musicians” on the high school’s news site states that the Flints “switch between the campuses daily and teach both middle school and high school students.”
State records show that the teaching certificates for both Jeremy Flint and Chloe Flint are under review by the Texas Education Agency.
Flint was arrested with assistance from the Copperas Cove Police Department and booked into the Lampasas County Jail on July 3.
Bond was set at $750,000.
The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office, Lampasas Police Department, and Texas Attorney General’s Office cooperated on the investigation.
In March, Lampasas ISD placed an unnamed high school teacher on administrative leave over an unspecified “issue” pending the outcome of an investigation. The teacher’s certificate is under review by the TEA.
In just the past few years, hundreds of Texas teachers have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children.
