A female teacher from Comal Independent School District is facing four new felony sex crime charges related to her arrest last year for alleged sexual abuse of an underage male student.
Jennifer Erin Massey, 52, was arrested last week and charged with sexual assault of a child, trafficking of a person from a school, and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.
All the charges are second-degree felonies punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.
Massey was an art teacher at Davenport High School in Comal ISD when she was first arrested in October 2024 on a charge of improper relationship between educator and student, also a second-degree felony.
At that time, police had discovered Massey and the student at a home that was under construction allegedly engaging in sexual activity.
Massey was free on a $50,000 bond at the time of her second arrest.
She was booked into Comal County Jail on July 2 and released the same day on bonds totaling $125,000.
State records show Massey has been certified to teach art since 2016. Her current teaching certificate is under review by the Texas Education Agency.
Massey is one of seven state-certified Comal ISD educators accused of sexual misconduct in just the past few years, along with hundreds of other Texas school employees.
