A South Texas teacher who admitted having sex with a male student is serving the last leg of her 60-day jail sentence, which was spread over five years.
Amber Nicole Prince, now 45, was first arrested in 2021 and charged with 10 counts of improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.
At the time of her arrest, Prince was teaching in the London Independent School District.
Prince pleaded guilty in February 2022 and was sentenced to five years of deferred adjudication probation—meaning that if she met the conditions of the probation, the conviction would be removed from her record.
The plea deal required Prince to serve a total of 60 days in jail—12 days each year for five years.
On February 24, 2026, Prince was booked into the Nueces County Jail to serve the final installment of her agreed-to sentence.
As part of her deal, Prince was also ordered to surrender her Texas teaching certificate, stay away from her victim, serve 120 hours of community service, and pay a $1,500 fine, among other conditions.
Prince voluntarily surrendered her teaching certificate and was added to the Do Not Hire Registry in March 2022.
In May 2023, Prince was rearrested for failing to comply with the terms of her plea deal. The Community Supervision and Corrections Department had recommended that Prince’s parole be revoked, but Judge Bobby Galvan added sanctions instead.
Online records show Prince had worked for London ISD since 2015. She resigned from the district following her first arrest.
Over the past few years, hundreds of Texas teachers have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children, and thousands have been reported to the Texas Education Agency for sexual misconduct.
