In a recently penned open letter to disgraced former Congressman Blake Farenthold, Governor Greg Abbott is calling on Farenthold to pay up. Abbott tweeted out the following:

Abbott not only demanded that Farenthold pay for the special election that his immoral actions caused, he also called on him to pay back the $84,000 of taxpayer dollars he spent covering up his sexual misconduct.

In his open letter to Farenthold, Governor Abbott stated that “This seat must be filled, and the counties and taxpayers in the 27th Congressional District should not again pay the price for your actions.”

While Farenthold had initially promised to pay back the $84,000 that he had spent to cover up the allegations, he has not followed up on doing so since his resignation in April. Beyond that, Farenthold has not voiced any intentions to cover the cost of the special election that he triggered, nor has he responded to Abbott’s letter. Abbott demanded a response by May 2.

Taxpayers around the country, particularly ones in Texas, should continue to demand that the elitist millionaire Blake Farenthold pay back all the money his frequent misconduct has cost us.
