Lauryn Thompson hails from Arlington, Texas, and is in her freshman year with the Virginia Commonwealth Rams.

Having played in 16 games this year, the 6-foot-2 forward is averaging 2.6 points per game with a 37.5 percent field goal percentage and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

She is averaging 7.7 minutes of play per game, achieving 2.1 rebounds per game, with 15 offensive rebounds and 18 defensive rebounds. She has logged nine assists, 15 turnovers and 11 steals this year.

During the last six games she played in, the team has a 4-2 record, facing off against Davidson, Charlotte and Virginia Tech. Although the VCU Rams suffered a 15-point loss against No. 2 ranked Fordham, they defeated two other top 10 ranked teams: No. 8 St. Joseph’s and No. 4 Dayton, beating them by 11 and nine points, respectively.

In high school, Thompson attended Mansfield Timberview High, where she achieved a No. 4 player ranking in Texas and No. 22 nationally, according to Maxpreps.com.
