Austin Lake Travis High alum Brenden Jaimes serves as a trusted bodyguard for an array of Nebraska quarterbacks, from starter Adrian Martinez to third-stringer Luke McCaffrey.
Listed at 6-foot-6-inches and 300 pounds, Jaimes has participated in all eight games of the current season so far for the Cornhuskers, according to his athlete bio. He has 29 total career games under his belt since arriving in Lincoln in 2017, and is the school’s record-holder for most starts by a true freshman offensive lineman with nine.
James is an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honoree and has made the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll twice.
At Lake Travis, he helped anchor a stout offensive line for head coach Hank Carter. He was a member of the 2016 Class 6A Division I state championship team.
