At 6-2 and 180 pounds, freshman baseball team member Reece Gould is enjoying his first year as a pitcher for the Texas State Bobcats.

As his college bio points out, Gould established his high-school record under coach Paul Gibson. Gould seems to embody the concept of student-athlete, with his National Honor Society membership and exemplary pitching stats: a 10-1 record, 2.18 earned run average and 80 strikeouts.

A native of Hurst, Texas, Gould attended L.D. Bell High School, where officials picked him for both the 2018 Collin Street Bakery TSWA 6A All-State honorable mention team and the All-District 5-6A First Team.

The marketing major, whose parents are Rick and Jennifer Gould, said in his bio the Bobcats’ facilities and atmosphere led him to choose the school. With 2019 being his freshman year, he pitched three and five innings against UTSA and Georgia Southern, respectively, with two outs against Georgia.
