Zackery Semrak’s enthusiasm still burns bright for Texas Tech football.

Back in early 2017 when Semrak settled on joining the Red Raiders program, he instantly took to social media to express his huge excitement and to sing the praises of the program.

While the Carroll High School grad’s big chance in Lubbock hasn’t come about as quickly as he may have hoped for, he still takes great pride in Texas Tech battling to five wins thus far this season… and maybe still counting.

Even as a redshirt freshman in 2017, the 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive linemen found a way to contribute, playing a key role on the Red Raiders’ scout team.

At Carroll, Semrak registered 54 tackles, six of them for losses, two sacks and a fumble recovery during a stellar senior season that made him a hot commodity on recruiting trials.

Semrak is majoring in kinesiology while attending Texas Tech.
