Cam Jackson’s time in South Carolina on the Coastal Carolina football roster was short but sweet.

After last playing at Liberty University, Jackson figured prominently for the Chanticleers in their 5-7, 2-6 finish in the Sun Belt East this season. A 6-foot-1, 225-pound safety, Jackson recorded two tackles and an assist in Coastal Carolina’s Week 3 58-21 annihilation of Campbell University, according to the school’s website.

So strong was his impact in his only season, coaches at Coastal Carolina felt compelled to single him out as one of the 15 players celebrated during recent Senior Day festivities.

Jackson long ago proved himself to be capable, finishing with 10 tackles in 11 games with Liberty as a redshirt freshman in 2015.

As a senior at Lutheran South Academy, he earned first-team all-district honors as a two-way star, finishing the season with 42 tackles, three interceptions and three pass breakups and with 39 catches for 535 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver.
