The University of Dallas men’s golf team secured its first ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship in school history, after outlasting conference rivals at Vaaler Creek Golf club.

The Dallas team registered a team score of 886, while taking a four stroke advantage over Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University, to secure the victory.

Erik Hamm led the Crusaders with a 71.

He also tied the field lead in Par 5 scoring with a 4.33 (-8).

The Crusaders led the first two rounds before the number seven ranked Southwestern University made a run for the victory.

The victory allowed Dallas to defeat teams that were ranked higher than them in Golfstat NCAA Division lll rankings.

Emilo Motalvo, Jacob Wade, Seth Mcneil, and Robby Evans all had top 20 finishes, and all Crusaders placed out of 35 golfers.

Head coach Garrett Smith was named (SCAC) Men’s Golf Coach of the Year for the 2018-19 season. This is first time an Dallas coach has claimed the award.
