Mansfield High School alum Collin Clark has been named a 2018-19 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar for the University of Texas-San Antonio, UTSA’s website reported.

To earn the honor, a golfer has to have at least a 3.2 grade point average and average a per-round stroke below 76. Clark had a 3.59 GPA when he graduated in May with an accounting degree and is planning to pursue a master’s degree in that field.

In his junior season, Clark averaged 73.17 strokes per round in 10 events and finished in the top 10 in three of them. That included winning the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, his first tournament win as a collegian.

At Mansfield, Clark was a key part of a program that had three top-six team finishes at the state tournament. He also earned all-district and all-region honors individually.
