After spending his 2017 freshman year redshirted, No. 82 tight end Tyler Henderson played his first game with the Baylor Bears in a 37-20 victory against University of Texas-San Antonio on Sep. 8.

During his career at Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas, the 6-foot-4-inch, 244-pound Henderson played under head coach Todd Raymond and was an all-district tight end twice. ESPN ranked him No. 32 among tight ends, while 247Sports.com placed him at No. 100. To cap his high-school tenure, he earned the title of Utility MVP in District 25-6A.

In 2016, the Texas High School Coaches Association selected him to the Academic All-State second team for scholastic achievement. He was also a National Honor Society member and in the school’s Top 10 Percent Honor Roll.
