Kene Nwangwu is anticipated to come back even stronger this year after being redshirted his sophmore year.

The 6-foot-1, 206-pound running back was redshirted the 2017 season after sustaining an injury and eased his way back into the 2018 season.

According to Iowa State’s school website, Nwangwu is a Frisco native and went Heritage High School. At Heritage High, Nwangwu was ranked the 59th best running back in the nation by 247Sports and was a two time team MVP.

Nwangwu chose Iowa State over Iowa, Indiana, Kansas and Northwestern.

The Cyclones were 8-5 in their regular football season and 6-3 in their conference this season.
