Hutto High graduate Chase Griffin is enjoying a homecoming in Southern California.

Griffin, who was born in Santa Monica, returned to the L.A. area earlier this year as a signal-caller for UCLA. After enrolling at the Pac-12 school, the 5-foot-11-inch, 185-pound freshman participated in spring practice.

Coached by Steve Van Meter and Brad LaPlante, Griffin enjoyed a stellar three-year career in which he threw for more than 10,000 yards for the Hippos. He was the Gatorade Texas State Player of the Year and his district’s offensive MVP.

Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in spring 2019, Griffin hopes to work on Wall Street, according to the his UCLA athlete bio.
