Keller native Shelby Henderson contributed to Texas Tech’s 7-1 softball victory over Odessa College on Sept. 17.

The 5-foot-3-inch Henderson, a utility player, hit one of the final two singles before the end of the eight-inning contest, which is the Red Raiders’ third consecutive victory. Texas Tech is currently 3-0 in fall play.

Henderson is in her second season with the Red Raiders. Last year, she transferred from Lamar where she set the school record for RBIs and earned 2018 All-Southland Conference Second Team honors.

Henderson’s first game for Texas Tech was coincidentally against the Cardinals, a matchup in which she collected seven putouts.

Henderson was instrumental in Keller High winning the 2016 Class 6A Texas state championship.

Texas to Implement Buoy Border Barriers

“Ultimately, static barriers alone will not solve the problem of crossings between ports of entry,” said Chris Russo, president of Texans for Strong Borders.
