Mason Brooks is confident better days are ahead for him and his Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

With Brooks as a freshmen down on the depth chart, Western Kentucky struggled to a 3-9 overall finish this season, with six of those defeats coming in Conference USA play. With those hard times now behind, the 6-foot-6, 275 pound offensive linemen is hoping to be a major part of the rebuild.

The Cedar Park High grad starred for the Timberwolves under the direction of coach Carl Abseck, earning First Team All-State honors as a senior and First Team All-District 19-5A in each of his last two seasons. According to the school’s website, Brooks’ stout play merited a two-star rating and a 77 composite score from 247Sports.

An honor roll student at Cedar Park, Brooks has yet to declare a major at Western Kentucky.

The Hilltoppers tough-luck season ended with four losses of just three points each.
