Robert Mahone has excelled as a running back since his junior year in high school. 

The 5-foot-10, 204-pound Boise State University redshirted sophomore was a two-star running back at Prosper High School. He originally started his high school football career as a safety but changed to a running back in his third year. He was a first-team All-District 10-5A as a junior and senior, as well as a team captain for both years. He obtained 868 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior, and 1,172 yards and 16 touchdowns on 125 carries as a senior.

According to Boise State University’s website, Mahone was redshirted as a Boise State University freshman. In his first year, he achieved his first career touchdown on a six-yard carry and a career-high of 24 yards rushing on nine carries.

As a redshirted sophomore, Mahone’s achievements have included rushing for 128 yards on 32 carries and catching 12 passes for 86 yards.
