CJ Massinburg leaves Buffalo University as the “face” of the school’s up-and-coming basketball program.

Not bad for someone who went basically unrecruited as a senior coming out of South Oak Cliff High.

Massinburg averaged double-digit scoring in each of his four seasons at Buffalo, culminating in a career-high 18.2 points this season to go with 6.5 rebounds and three assists, according to ESPN.

The Bulls (32-4) advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament this season before being ousted by Final Four-bound Texas Tech.

Throughout his Buffalo career, Massinburg used the slight of being overlooked in high school as motivation.

“Not too many college players that had the success I’m having right now played as an unsigned senior,” he recently told the Dallas Morning News. “That process definitely made me into the man I am today. It definitely gives me an edge about me, it gives me more motivation.”
