The Louisville Cardinals women’s volleyball team has found a probable Jill of all trades in freshman Nena Mbonu.

The outside-hitter, who was recruited from Spring Klein High, has been very instrumental in several of Louisville’s victories, establishing herself as a key producer of kills, points, digs and blocks. She shone brightest in the victory over Clemson earlier this month with season highs of 11 kills, 11 points and three digs.

Standing at 6-feet, Mbonu currently hits at .165 percent and has scored a total of 51 points as of press time.

Her prep career at Klein was highlighted by her 2016 District Newcomer of the Year award and the 2017 District MVP honors. In club play, she starred for TAV Houston, where she made the nationals all-tournament team.
