Garland Sachse High graduate Riko Jeffers appears on pace to match his tackles for loss (TFL) total from his breakout sophomore season with Texas Tech.

As a key member of the Red Raiders linebackers core, the 6-foot-2-inch, 240-pound Jeffers has amassed 3.5 TFLs through seven games as a junior. He had seven in 2018.

Jeffers has twice registered season highs of seven tackles, first in the season opener against Montana State and again on Sept. 28 against Oklahoma. His career tackles total sits at 131, making him one of the Red Raiders’ leaders in the category.

The Dallas-born graphics design major was unanimously named District 10-6A Defensive Player of the Year as a senior at Sachse.
