Before launching her Republican primary bid for the Texas House, former Willow Park City Councilmember Amy Fennell posted repeatedly about keeping President Donald Trump out of the White House and shared favorable messages about former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Fennell, who describes herself as a “proven conservative,” is challenging State Rep. Mike Olcott (R–Aledo) in the GOP primary for House District 60.
Just months before the 2024 election, Fennell wrote that Trump should be kept out of the White House, a position she reiterated across multiple posts.

In another, she called Trump a “treasonous felon”.

Fennell’s criticism of Trump intensified during the summer and fall of 2024.
In mid-July, she shared a screenshot of a fundraising text attributed to Trump and described it as “some next level cult shit.” Notably, the post came just one day after the attempted assassination of Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The following day, Fennell commented on the shooter, writing that he “wasn’t a radicalized democrat.”

In September, she again mocked Trump immediately following another assasination attempt in Florida, writing, “Poor Trump. Everybody’s out to get him… Boohoo… Suck it up man!!”

Later in the campaign, Fennell wrote that January 6 was the “final straw” for her and claimed that Trump “would’ve been hanged for treason” two centuries ago.

In addition to opposing Trump, Fennell shared multiple posts framing Kamala Harris’ campaign in a positive light.
In one post, she encouraged readers to “be patient” and asserted that Harris’ campaign was focused on “bringing America back together.”

In another, praising a Kamala Harris ad, she said she would be voting “for a campaign that has hope.”

Fennell also posted comments minimizing concerns about Democrat gun control efforts, responding to a post by Senate Republicans saying, “For the love of gravy!! Calm down. Nobody’s coming for your effing guns.”

Fennell has also defended taxpayer-funded lobbying, arguing in social media posts that cities and school districts need publicly funded lobbyists to effectively engage with the Legislature. Ending taxpayer-funded lobbying is a legislative priority of the Republican Party of Texas.

She also dismissed the Republican Party of Texas’ censure process, writing that party censures are “the dumbest shit” and “mean nothing.”

Fennell did not respond to a request for comment before publication.
