We hosted a live conference call last night for folks in House District 81 — and some 2,500 took part in the call to ask questions of fiscal conservative Tryon Lewis, who the Empower Texans PAC has endorsed in the run-off.

The questions ranged from tax and budget policy to education and immigration. We had incredibly high participation and Lewis — a retired state district judge — took them all without a blush. He’s an energetic candidate, a thoughful conservative, and a generally pleasant fellow. It’s going to be a tight race against incumbent Buddy West, but Lewis has demonstrated he’ll have a strong voice in the Texas House.
