Enough of the silly scared of guns, stories over Texas Capitol access for Concealed Handgun License holders. The namby-pamby press has completely missed the point on the issue.

“Everyone from lobbyists to lawyers and journalists are rushing to get permits to carry guns inside the Texas Capitol because it will give them VIP-style access to the building. A unique loophole in a new security procedure means a gun permit is like a special-access pass. It allows people who are certified to carry a gun to bypass lines at the metal detectors that were set up after a shooting incident earlier this year,” the AP nervously reports.

They’re so focused upon guns that they miss the primary reason why Concealed Handgun License holders can be passed through (and it’s not VIP access you morons!). It’s because the DPS, in charge of Capitol security, has already vetted CHL holders.

Too bad all the fools in the press, who are afraid a gun is going to jump out of a pocket and start running around firing its own bullets at people, can’t see past their own irrational fears to report the fact that CHL holders have passed a higher standard of security check than anyone else entering our Capitol.

CHL holders have gone through a complete FBI and state criminal background check, have proven their identity, and have their fingerprints and photos on-file with the DPS. In other words, CHL holders, gun or no gun on them, have been cleared at a higher level than any elected official, employee, or tourist who may enter the Capitol.
