State Sen. Angela Paxton says she will carry out her duties as the Senate prepares for a trial in the impeachment of her husband, Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Paxton’s comments come as some have called on the two-term McKinney Republican to recuse herself.
Before being elected as mayor in 2019, Johnson previously served a decade in the Texas House of Representatives as a Democrat.
