Parker Braun has become a force for the Georgia Tech football team not often seen around campus.
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound offensive lineman was recently named first-team All-ACC, giving the Yellowjackets its first first-team selection in six seasons, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Braun’s 2018 feats also makes him a repeat All-ACC selection after the Hallsville High alum was named to the second team last year as a sophomore.
With Braun anchoring the line, Georgia Tech (7-6, 5-3 ACC) led all Division 1 schools in rushing this season, building on a 2017 season that saw him prove instrumental in helping teammates TaQuon Marshall and KrVonte Benson become just the second pair of rushers in school history to run for more than 1,000 yards in the same season, the school’s website says.
Coming out of Hallsville, Braun was rated a four-star prospect by ESPN and the No. 17 offensive guard in the country. Braun comes from an athletic family, with both his father and brother having played football at the Division 1 level.
