Alabama true freshman defensive back Scooter Carter recently experienced his first taste of action for the Crimson Tide.

Carter, who was recruited from Mansfield Legacy High, played in the College Football Playoff National Championship runner-up’s first two games of the 2019 season. It was in the second game, a 62-10 victory over New Mexico State, that the 6-foot, 186-pound Carter registered a solo tackle, the first of his collegiate career.

According to his bio on RollTide.com, he was a highly rated cornerback prospect in the latest recruiting cycle who worked his way into the defensive back rotation so far in his first year.

Carter was a widely sought-after player at Mansfield Legacy. Touted as one of the best cornerbacks in Texas and the nation, Carter chose Alabama over Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas A&M.
