Playing the tight end position for reigning national champion Clemson, Argyle High alum J.C. Chalk has registered a couple of new career highs this season.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 255-pound Chalk has tallied 46 receiving yards through all eight games so far for the Tigers, surpassing the 40 yards he amassed prior to the 2019 season. Chalk has caught seven passes from sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence, nearly doubling his total number from the previous two seasons.

Earlier in the season, he started his first collegiate game against Georgia Tech in which he helped block for the offense as it registered 411 rushing yards.

Chalk was a two-time all-district honoree and a state champion when he prepped at Argyle.
