President Donald Trump is returning to Texas next week for a pair of campaign rallies as Republicans make their final push ahead of the November midterm elections.
Trump is scheduled to appear in Lubbock and Waco on Tuesday, October 27, exactly one week before election day on November 3.
The first rally will take place in Lubbock, where doors will open at 11 a.m. and the event will begin at 1 p.m. Trump is expected to deliver remarks at 2:30 p.m.
Later that day, Trump will travel to Waco for a second rally. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., with the event beginning at 4:30 p.m. Trump is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m.
Specific venues for both events have not yet been announced. Attendees will be required to RSVP in advance.
The two-city swing follows a series of recent appearances by Trump and other top Republican officials in Texas as the party campaigns to maintain its congressional majorities.
Earlier this month, Trump held a rally in San Antonio, where he appeared alongside Republican candidates and elected officials, including Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is challenging Democrat James Talarico for the U.S. Senate.
Speaking at the kickoff of Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows’ statewide Republican bus tour in Lubbock on Monday, State Rep. Carl Tepper suggested Trump’s visit was a sign of confidence in Republican Ken Paxton’s U.S. Senate campaign.
“He’s not coming because we’re losing. They wouldn’t waste the jet fuel and the time on a losing campaign,” said Tepper.
“He wouldn’t be wasting the time and the jet fuel to go to Lubbock and Waco,” he added, arguing that Trump’s appearances would help push Paxton “over the top.”
Vice President JD Vance has also made campaign stops in Texas, including rallies in Harlingen and Tyler, while U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson has traveled to South Texas to campaign for Republican congressional candidates.
The upcoming Waco appearance will mark a return to the city where Trump held his first major campaign rally during his 2024 re-election bid.
Early voting in Texas began October 19 and continues through October 30. Election Day is November 3.
