One year after a Celina ISD coach was arrested for recording middle school students in the boys’ locker room, police have arrested a former district student for allegedly taking locker room pictures of fellow students.
The Celina Police Department announced Thursday that a former Celina Independent School District student was taken into custody for allegedly obtaining “pornographic images of children online.”
The former student was charged with six counts of invasive visual recording (photography), a state jail felony. The suspect is a juvenile, so he/she will not be identified.
Police stated that during an investigation, detectives discovered four additional images on the juvenile’s phone that involved a total of six Celina ISD students. Investigators determined the images were taken by the suspect in a Celina High School locker room during the 2025–26 school year.
In July 2025, in accordance with a new state law, Celina ISD adopted a policy prohibiting students from using cell phones or other personal communication devices on school property during the school day. Apparently, the policy was not fully enforced.
Celina Police said parents of the photographed students have been contacted by the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, and to protect those involved, no other information would be released.
“Celina ISD has fully cooperated with the Celina Police Department throughout the investigation, assisted investigators as needed, and complied with all reporting obligations in connection with the event,” continued the community advisory. “At this time, the investigation has identified no evidence that additional individuals were involved in this criminal activity, including past or present Celina ISD personnel.”
One year ago, Moore Middle School teacher and coach Caleb Elliott was arrested for secretly recording student athletes in the boys’ locker room. Elliott was arrested twice more on state charges of possessing child pornography and sexual performance by a child.
The scandal revealed systemic failures within the district’s Athletics Department and Moore Middle School, resulting in the ouster of MMS Principal Allison Ginn and Celina ISD’s longtime head football coach and athletic director Bill Elliott, who is Caleb’s father.
Caleb Elliott is facing state and federal charges, as well as seven civil lawsuits from families of nearly 40 boys he’s accused of secretly recording.
Federal court dates have been rescheduled multiple times. In August, U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant reset a pretrial conference for February 5, 2027. The judge also set a January 15 plea agreement deadline, after which Elliott “may not receive a points reduction for acceptance of responsibility.”
