A now-former teacher in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District faces a new felony charge following her earlier arrest for sexually grooming a 14-year-old student.

Haley Krista Radabaugh, 28, was an art teacher at Barbara Bush Middle School in Carrollton-Farmers ISD when she was first arrested in May and charged with child grooming, a third-degree felony.

She was out of jail on a $25,000 bond when the second charge was filed.

Radabaugh was arrested again on July 3 and charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.

She was booked into the Denton County Jail and released the next day on a $10,000 bond.

Radabaugh was reportedly having “inappropriate sexual conversations” with at least three middle school students and providing drugs to students.

At the time of her first arrest, the district released a statement referring to Radabaugh as “a former employee” and said the Irving Police Department was leading “an active investigation.”

A 14-year-old boy told investigators that Radabaugh had sent him sexual messages on Instagram and a photo that appeared to show the teacher getting out of the shower.

According to the arrest affidavit, the student described himself as being “disgusted and losing sleep” after the teacher messaged him.

Online records show Radabaugh had worked for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD since the 2022-23 school year.

Radabaugh has held a Texas teaching certificate since 2021. Her certification is currently under review by the Texas Education Agency.

She is one of four Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD teachers charged with sex crimes this year.

Perry Middle School ESL teacher Miguel Caban Mendez was arrested March 4 and charged with two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, two counts of improper relationship between educator and student, and one count of indecent assault.

Turner High School engineering teacher and assistant coach Jerel Singh was arrested March 27 and charged with invasive visual recording.

Creekview High School theater teacher Kolby Campbell was arrested March 28 on a charge of child grooming.

In the past few years, hundreds of Texas school employees have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children. Thousands have been reported to the TEA for misconduct since the state began keeping organized records.

The TEA’s Educator Misconduct Reporting Dashboard shows that the agency is currently investigating more than 2,400 sexual misconduct complaints and opening an average of 260 new cases each month.
