Infielder Eva Scott with the Alcorn State University softball team is splitting her time between academics and athletics.

A general studies major and native of Burleson, Texas, Scott made her Alcorn debut in 2019 after freshman and sophomore stops at Southern Mississippi and East Central Community College, respectively. At those two schools, she polished her game and her studies, becoming designated with Academic All-State Honors at East Central.

During 2019, Scott, now a junior, achieved a batting average of .296 and .407 as a slugging percentage, according to her college bio. Her stats also include 15 RBIs, 12 runs, four doubles and two triples.

Her stellar performance is no surprise given her past experience as far back as high school. She lettered in softball each of her four years at Burleson Centennial High School and was selected as Utilities MVP during her final year. Scotts’ senior year stats included .423 batting, 16 double plays, 11 triple plays, and three homeruns.
