The National Junior College Athletic Association Division ll committee named two Cedar Valley Suns baseball players to the 2019 All-American Team.

Outfielder Billy Rogers and designated hitter Jose Castillo earned first team and second team honors respectively, for the Suns.

“I’m thrilled for Billy and Jose to received this prestigious recognition and award,” said Suns head coach Robert Dally.

“It was a privilege to have coached these two young men as well as our team this year.”

The Suns has now had back-to-back NJCAA All-Americans as Daniel Quintanilla earned the nomination in 2018.

Rogers was also chosen as Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Year, recording a .488 batting average that ranked third among the NJCAA. Castillo also hit the rankings, as he ranked third in NJCAA with 88 hits. The Suns finished the season (31-21) overall, and (14-16) in conference play as they look to bounce back in the upcoming 2019-20 season.
