Plano West High School graduate Emeka Obukwelu has the opportunity to help bolster the Arkansas front court.

Suiting up for the Razorbacks for the first time after sitting out the 2018-2019 season due to NCAA transfer rules, the redshirt junior forward is expected to step up in light of sophomore forward Reggie Chaney’s indefinite suspension. Obukwelu collected three rebounds in just one minute against Rice on Nov. 5, his first game for Arkansas.

Prior to coming to Fayetteville, Obukwelu was a star player at the University of Texas-Tyler where he enjoyed a productive and decorated sophomore campaign.

Obukwelu’s prep career was highlighted by a state championship in his junior year.
