Leftist Commentator Hasan Piker to Speak at UT-Austin

Democrat student organization to host “nepo baby terror apologist.”

University Democrats, a student organization at UT-Austin, will host leftist provocateur Hasan Piker later this month.

According to an eventbrite listing, Piker will speak to the University Democrats on September 30 less than three weeks after the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Piker has an extensive history of anti-American, anti-Semitic, and pro-communist commentary.

Examples include:

While Piker is popular with the Democrat base, he is otherwise ridiculed.

A self-described anti-capitalist who rails against the rich, “wage theft,” and inequality, Piker owns a $3 million home in Los Angeles, drives high-end cars, and wears designer clothes.

Radio host Dana Loesch has described Piker as a “nepo baby terror apologist.”

The hostile far-left ideologue will appear on campus during the home stretch of Texas’ most competitive General Election in a decade.

Recent polling has suggested a close U.S. Senate race between Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton.

Piker has praised Talarico several times and stated last week that he was “riding with Talafreako.”

The Talarico campaign did not reply to a detailed list of questions about the relationship between the campaign and this event.

“James Talarico and Hasan Piker are both leaders of the same Democratic Socialist Movement that wants to raise taxes, trans your children, and abolish prisons,” a Paxton campaign spokesperson told Texas Scorecard. “They welcome extreme radicals into their base and don’t bat an eye when they start chanting ‘death to America.”

Piker’s visit is sponsored by a student organization and, as such, has no connection to UT-Austin administration or leadership.

UT-Austin is a component of the University of Texas System. The UT System is overseen by a Board of Regents that is appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Texas Senate. Kevin Eltife of Tyler is the current board chairman.
